Cha-am is a beach destination, located about 160 Kilometers (only 2
hours by car), 30 minutes closer than Hua-Hin. In many ways, So why
many people thinking Cha-Am will be the obvious next boom town in Thailand,
and therefore a very good place to invest in now - before prices rocket
as they have in other place in Thailand.
Cha Am offers the long, beautiful and private secluded beaches, great
restaurants, temples to visit and markets to shopping. It is a great
base for many different golf courses in the area and as yet, is not
spoiled or lost its charm through western tourism. Whereas most of
Hua-Hin’s land suitable for development is either already sold or
considered too expensive, Cha Am still offers land prices and houses
at very reasonable rates.
The main attraction of Cha-Am beach is the long and beautiful beach,
sandy and the sea not deep. It is lined with pine trees and generally
pretty quiet during the week, and it is considered as a safe, quiet
and family destination. It is also be the most popular place for retirees.
The main administrative area and old part of town is to the west
of Petchkasem Road. Here you'll find the Post Office, government buildings,
police station and train station. As with most Thai towns of this
size, there's a vibrant local market that's worth taking a look around.
Attractions around Cha-am include Maruekatayawan Palace which is
the old Royal summer residence. Its teak has been beautifully restored
and is certainly worth a visit. It is located 8km south of Cha-am.
Constructed in 1923 by Rama VI, the palace is a superb example of
a raised-floor wooden palace.
Cha-am Forest Park is fairly modest, but worth getting along to.
You can hire vehicles for guided tours and it's popular with families
and small groups. The park is located on the west side of Petchkasem
Road about 1km south from the main intersection.
The highway upgrade from Bangkok is complete and it’s now possible
to travel from the center of Bangkok or Bangkok international airport
to Cha-Am in under 2 hours. Cha-am is easily reached from Bangkok
by car, train, bus, minivan or taxi. And The journey from Hua Hin
should only take around 20 mins.
